The 15 ready-to-use assemblies contained in this book are based on a series of posters. The idea behind it is to build up a picture of a journey through Jesus’ last week by adding a poster to the wall each day. Each assembly looks at how Jesus acted or was treated by others. Each one has a daily prayer and a ‘thought for the day’ which may be read either by the teacher or the pupils.
The illustrations are modelled around images and tones, and identifying what each of them symbolises forms the basis of a discussion. For example, pupils could reflect on the images in a particular poster or session and suggest appropriate symbolic mood colours for the message such as a colour to show celebration, conflict, joy or hope. Whichever way the materials are used, the participants will have the opportunity to reflect on and experience more powerfully, the wonderful liturgical season of Easter
