Due to the huge popularity of the first recording of Taize Chants, a second has now been completed.
It would seem that as the noise and rush of modern day living speeds up, it has become increasingly important for people to stop, be still and use this time to either relax, pray or contemplate. Many of the songs contained on this recording are from Taize a small town nestling among the hills of Burgundy where there is a small ecumenical community of brothers whose prayer is at the heart of their life. The remaining songs are by Margaret Rizza, a composer who has dedicated herself to the writing of sacred music for contemplation and prayer. The chants and songs are sympathetic to the Taize style of worship and are not only soothing to the soul but uplifting to the Spirit.
The musical style is gentle, with sensitive use of strings, woodwind, brass and voices singing in both English and Latin. This new recording will be enjoyed by those who are looking for something a little different to aid them in their prayer, worship and devotions.
