God never changes, nor do the central truths of Christianity. But our understanding of those truths is in constant flux. Christians will always be exploring and discovering what it means to live in harmony with God and each other. Now in softcover, Velvet Elvis offers original and refreshingly personal perspectives on what Christianity is really about
We have to test everything.
I thank God for anybody anywhere who is pointing people to the mysteries of God.
But those people would all tell you to think long and hard about what they are saying and doing and creating.
Test it. Probe it. Do that to this book.
Don’t swallow it uncritically. Think about it. Wrestle with it.
Just because I’m a Christian and I’m trying to articulate a Christian worldview doesn’t mean I’ve got it nailed. I’m contributing to the discussion.
God has spoken, and the rest is commentary, right

Customer Reviews
Great style and insightful honesty This was the first Rob Bell I have read and the eclectic style combined with the author's honesty about his own struggles and insights makes this a must-read for Christian apprentices - wherever they are on their journey of discovery.
The best book I have read in ages! This is just so refreshing and makes me want to buy a copy for every Christian I know! It was given to me by a very respected friend who read it in a couple of days and passed it on. You'll come back to it again and again.
A joy to read. Velvet Elvis was lent to me initially and it is so good that I had to buy it. Rob Bell poses questions for anyone who wants to think about what they really believe. As he says, everyone believes in something. Thoroughly recommended. Well worth reading.
