Hope was recorded live in March 2003 and is the first Hillson album to be recorded in the new Hillsong Church Convention Center in Sydney Austrailia.
The new facility was filled to capacity on both album nights and many who were unable to get inside spilled over onto the lawns outside. After the second night, worship pastor Darlene Zschech together with a small team of musicians, led worship with the hundreds who had been watching the worship on a large screen outside.
Hillsong Church Senior Pastor, Brian Houston said "The heartbeat of this recording is a message of hope. We can live a certain amount of time without food, a lot less time without water - but we were never meant to live without hope. No matter what things look like in the natural, when your hope is in God, your dreams will come true."
Worship leader Darlene Zschech expressed her heart for the recording "Our prayer for this project is that you would be stirred to find the Author of 'life' and 'joy' as you put your hope in the Name that is above every other name - Jesus Christ."
